Suspended Access Platform & Swing Stage Rigging Training / On-site

Swing stages are an essential part of construction projects, and their popularity is likely to continue to grow in the years to come. It is a platform that workers can use to access high areas on a building, and it is suspended from a crane or other overhead structure. Swing stages are typically used for tasks such as window washing, painting/installation, or repairs.

While swing stages have been around for many years, they have become increasingly popular in recent years due to advances in construction technology. Newer swing stages are much more stable and provide a smoother ride for workers. They also feature safety features that make them easier to use, such as guardrails and non-slip surfaces.

Why is suspended access platform training important?

A construction worker who wants to operate a suspended access platform must first complete a professional training course. This is important for several reasons.

First, construction workers who have not received proper training are more likely to have accidents. In fact, construction accidents are one of the leading causes of death and injury in the Canada. OHSA estimates that 70 percent of construction accidents could be prevented if workers were properly trained.

Second, construction workers who are not properly trained can damage equipment or injure themselves or others. For example, an operator who does not understand how to properly use a swing stag could accidentally scratch a building, causing serious damage or injury for himself and other people.

Third, improper use of construction equipment can result in costly repairs or replacements. For example, an operator who does not understand how to properly use a suspended access platform could damage it, resulting in expensive repairs and/or the loss of valuable working time.

Fourth, construction workers who are not properly trained can create safety hazards for themselves and others. An operator who does not understand how to properly tie-off tools could create a danger for everyone around the Swing Stage.

Finally, construction workers who are not properly trained are more likely to be cited for violations of OHSA regulations. OHSA fines can be very expensive, and they can also lead to construction projects being shut down, causing additional costs.

In conclusion, it is clear that suspended access platform training is important for construction workers. Not only does it help prevent accidents, but it also helps protect equipment and property, and it can save construction projects from being shut down due to OHSA violations.
